How To Hair Video: Beautiful Braids

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I love the milk maid look that was popular last season. It is simple, elegant and super easy to do. Just a couple of pins and tucks here and there.  I found it easier to work with a smaller section of hair because it turned out neater. It helps if you have super thick hair especially if you want to create a thick braided band.

See the video below for further instructions.

Fashion Tip: How To Wear Belts

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

I am looking to add belts in my wardrobe. I have a couple of skinny belts but that’s about it. My concern with belts from a petite fashion perspective is that they tend to break up the silhouette. That being said I am thinking of getting a basic black belt (I’ll probably take it from T’s closet) and a wider belt with embellishments.

The video below shows a few options on how to wear belts. It basically explains how to take a basic shift dress to a new level by giving it a fresh look with a belt. I really like the leather and chain belt that they used and the cardigan/thin belt look is so cute!

Fashion tip: It is not always necessary to match your belt with your shoes.

The Future of Shopping

Monday, February 8th, 2010

This is so cool!

Forget the long lines in the fitting room or shopping in-store. Imagine the time that will be saved from having to physically try clothes on.

I’ll be the very first in line to try this technology.

Beauty Video: Sexy Cat Eyes

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

I’ve always loved the seductive look of cat eye make up. I’ve never mastered it with the liquid liner because my hand is not very steady when it comes precision. So I’ve resorted to the eye shadow and angle brush option.

The cat eye look was made popular by Edie Sedgwick and is worn by today’s hottest celebs like Angelina, Beyonce and Paris.

It is best to wear neutral make up along with cat eyes. Nude lips and just a touch of shimmer seems suffice. I find that too much make up or bright lips gives off a clown-like and messy effect.

The video below makes it look so easy!

Hair Video: How To Get Soft, Sexy Curls

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I’ve never used hot rollers and I have no idea where to start. I am so glad I found this video on how to get sexy, soft curls like the Victoria’s Secret Models.

It looks easy enough and the stylist gives a lot of tips. I never knew that you can just curl the top middle part of your hair and leave the rest as is. I’ve always thought that with hot rollers you have to do the entire head to get a unified look.

I really like the end result and the model looks great! I think that I’ll try to recreate the look for Valentine’s Day.

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

If you have a set or pearls or an old beaded necklace that you would like to remake, this DIY project is for you. The headband is super easy and simple to make.  You will need a beaded necklace, a ribbon, fishing wire, scissors and elastic cord and some manual dexterity. I think that this is perfect as a flower girl bridal accessory. It’s very sweet and pretty!
