Add some faux gems to your spring wardrobe with these affordable statement jewelry. The earrings below caught my attention. I saw “Bachelorette” Jillian Harris wear something similar on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. Florals are huge this spring so wearing floral inspired jewelry is a way to update your look.
Spend $100 or more at Abercombie and Fitch and receive a $25 Gift card. The free gift card must be used by April 30, 2010.
I’ve never shopped at Abercrombie and I remember that the brand was really big back in high school. We didn’t have any store locations in Canada but it was really popular with my friends from the States.
Give an old pair of jeans a second chance and get the the look of distressed jeans on a budget. This project is quite simple but needs a lot of patience and frequent re-washing until you get the look that is desired.
You will need:
An old pair of jeans
Sandpaper
Cardboard Knife
A cheese grater
Nail File
Blade
A piece of wood to go under
Q-tips or an eye shadow applicator
Bleach
As much as I love the look of suits it is always nice to have other stylish options for office wear/interviews.
The options presented below are stylish, professional and modern. I love how they added a corporate feel to a simple dress by just adding a blazer.
Some style tips from the video:
Clothes that are perfectly tailored to your body (regardless of the price) look expensive.
Flats and open-toed shoes are a big faux pas for interviews.
Accessorize and give life to an old dress by adding a belt.
If you don’t own a blazer, a cardigan can be used in its place.
Keep jewelry subtle and tasteful.
I guess compared to what Chanel charges, $75 is not a lot. But for temporary tattoos I can’t seem to justify spending that much.
From Chanel:
Les Trompe-L’Oeil de Chanel.
Fifty-five exclusive temporary tattoos in all, originally hand-drawn by Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, for the Spring-Summer 2010 Fashion Show in Paris. Artful images of CHANEL symbols and icons, including Oriental cherry blossoms and birds, can be mixed and matched for unlimited effects.
I like the idea and some of the prints are quite lovely. If I was considering getting a permanent tattoo this is a way to test out the waters before committing. I am just not sure if I want to pay for the entire set. It’s too bad you can’t just pick and choose what you like.
I just received a fantastic discount tip from a reader. Thank you Sarah!
Present your student card or teacher’s ID at a Banana Republic store location and receive a 15% discount on your purchase. This includes sale and clearance items as well.
I like the clothes at BR but the stuff is a bit expensive so the discount will really help. This is the second store that I know of that gives student discounts. I hope that more stores will follow.
If you’re looking for a pair of fabulous denim check out ONLY jeans at the Carrefour Laval and Promenades Sain-Bruno locations and receive $10 off your purchase (last ticketed price) of ONLY Jeans.
Having one or two pairs of amazing jeans is a key part of your wardrobe and will never go out of style!
Coupon must be presented in order to receive the discount. Valid until March 7, 2010.
I love the milk maid look that was popular last season. It is simple, elegant and super easy to do. Just a couple of pins and tucks here and there. I found it easier to work with a smaller section of hair because it turned out neater. It helps if you have super thick hair especially if you want to create a thick braided band.
I love the look of fur but I don’t think that I can ever wear real fur. I love fuzzy animals too much and I don’t think that it is necessary to hunt animals down just for their fur alone. There are cultures/people out there that hunt, eat and use animal fur for survival purposes. This I am ok with.
Thank goodness for faux fur. I found this look on Garance Dore’s blog and I love how the colour of the model’s skin is enhanced by her beautiful fur collar. She looks so warm and cozy and gorgeous of course!
The monochromatic look is always so chic and will never go out of style.
From Seventeen Magazine. More ways on how to wear a scarf. I love collecting scarves. Especially long thin ones. There are so many ways to wear them. I like to use scarves as hair, neck, waist and bag accessories.
