It’s always nice to see a splash of colour in between clouds of neutrals and pastels. That is why I love this silk dress by Paul & Joe. It would look awesome with silver or gold accessories and a belt. It can also be worn on its own or as a top.
French Connection Canada is offering free shipping with any online order, valid until March 7, 2010.
They don’t offer free online shipping often so when they do, I make a point to look through the collection. Don’t you just love free shipping deals? I certainly do!
I like really like this trio of blush colours by celebrity make up artist Scott Barnes (he worked with JLO when she was really big star). I am a big fan of contouring. I love how it changes, adds drama to the face along with instant modelesque cheek bones. I like to reserve heavy contouring at night because during the day it is too obvious. During the day a swipe of bronzer or blush is suffice.
To learn how to contour see the video below.
Scot Barnes Chic Palette $45 SALE $18 (free shipping worldwide on all purchases)
The video below shows how to contour with cream and powder blushes. I like both methods but the powder version works better for me because my skin is a bit more on the oily side. Cream options does wonders for drier skin types.
I found a website that sells perfume, skin care and make up at discounted prices. Think Sephora but at a lower price point. StrawberryNET carries everything that department stores have. As in EVERYTHING but cheaper. They also have a loyalty program, online deals and additional discounts depending on the number of items that you want to purchase. On top of that, they offer free shipping anywhere in the world (some exclusions apply for fragrance).
There’s taxes that you have to pay at the border but when you take advantage of the discounted price (+additional online deals) and free shipping it is probably cheaper to buy it online. It’s a good idea to do a price comparison before making a purchase.
Here are some deals that I found (Prices in CAD $):
Benefit 10 Palette Bronzer $30.50 SALE $18.00
Lancome Precious Lights Makeup Palette $63 SALE $35
Yves Saint Laurent Palette D’Artiste for the eyes &67 SALE $33.50
You all know how much I love the lace trend. I absolutely adore this maxi-dress. I think that it is perfect to wear for weddings, over dinner, to a party, almost anything really. I would wear this with wedge heels and a gold cuff bracelet. A cluster of transparent beads might work or a pair of dangling earrings as well. It would look great with hoops and fitted jacket. Denim maybe to dress it down? It will work with a blazer as well.
I think that the overall effect is very sophisticated. Maxi dresses work well with taller frames but with a pair of heels or platforms, us petite women can do some serious damage as well.
If you are a size L today is your lucky day! I found this fantastic one shoulder dress that can be work in so many ways! With tights, skinny jeans and even a short skirt (with some adjustment). The dress also comes in a peach-coral version but I think that the black version is hotter.
I blogged about Strappys a few days ago and Allison relayed a discount for The Cheap Girl readers (thanks Allison!).

Online shopping is so convenient. I can’t wait until all my favourite stores go online. I love the fact that everything is accessible with just a few clicks and things just show up at your door. Before I make a purchase online, I usually check to see if there are any discount codes available. I love shopping online because items are usually priced lower than store-front locations. And if they’re not, they’re cheaper somewhere else. When it comes to shopping online I find that clothes are hardest thing to shop for because of sizing. I usually try things on at the store (if possible) and then I would check online to see if it can be purchased at a lower price point. One thing that I love doing is shopping for accessories. Shoes, bags, scarves, jewelry…you name it!
There are many sites out there offering discount codes but I like savings.com because of the variety. This site carries free online coupons from many brands and stores. I think that this site carries mostly American brands but a lot of places ship to Canada and internationally. I usually visit the fashion section and beauty section for discounts. I wish that more places shipped to Canada. I have family and friends in the States so I usually send my purchases to them whenever the store that I shop from only ships in the States. Also the additional discount helps especially if you have to pay for the shipping cost. I cannot wait until companies start offering more free shipping offers.
