Luxury for Less: Edmundo Castillo Gold Strappy High Heels
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010I am still looking for a pair of shoes to wear to my friend’s wedding. I am drooling over these gold leather, Italian-made shoes. It’s too bad they don’t carry my size and they’re not silver-toned. Other than that these shoes are gorgeous and at that price (OMG!), what a deal!

Budget Beauty Find: Clinique Make-Up Palette
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010I can never get sick of make-up palettes/sets. Clinique is having a great deal on their eye and make-up kit set. I love the berry lip colours and the pastel colours for the eyes. With pastel eye shadow, less is more. A hint of pastel green, blue or pink is always pretty and very spring-like. The blue shade will look fabulous on green eyes and the green shade will bring out the blue in blue eyes. And for those people with brown eyes? All colours will look amazing! Lucky you!

Budget Beauty Find: Discount Designer Fragrance, Skin Care and Cosmetics= StrawberryNET
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010I found a website that sells perfume, skin care and make up at discounted prices. Think Sephora but at a lower price point. StrawberryNET
carries everything that department stores have. As in EVERYTHING but cheaper. They also have a loyalty program, online deals and additional discounts depending on the number of items that you want to purchase. On top of that, they offer free shipping anywhere in the world (some exclusions apply for fragrance).
There’s taxes that you have to pay at the border but when you take advantage of the discounted price (+additional online deals) and free shipping it is probably cheaper to buy it online. It’s a good idea to do a price comparison before making a purchase.
Here are some deals that I found (Prices in CAD $):
Benefit 10 Palette Bronzer $30.50 SALE $18.00
Lancome Precious Lights Makeup Palette $63 SALE $35
Yves Saint Laurent Palette D’Artiste for the eyes &67 SALE $33.50

Luxury for Less: Portero.com
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010I love designer bags and accessories but the price points for the items are super steep. I usually have to save up for quite a while.
So I am quite pleased that I found a site that sells premium, authentic, pre-owned luxury accessories. They also have a great collection of vintage items as well.
They carry all the big guns: Hermes, Chanel, Cartier, Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Pucci, Balenciaga and many, many more!
I don’t mind buying things that are pre-owned from vintage shops or online. The only thing that I care about is authenticity.
From the website:
Portero’s Authenticity Pledge:
“We at Portero believe that buying luxury goods online should be straightforward, exciting, and simple. Portero’s mission is to be the leading trusted online source for authenticated, pristine & pre-owned, luxury Jewelry, Watches, Accessories, Fur, Art, and Fine Housewares. Portero verifies the authenticity of each item on our web site before it is listed, and we stand behind the authenticity of our items with a money-back guarantee. ”
“We determine authenticity by drawing on the experience of our in-house category specialists, by working with outside product experts, and in some cases by partnering with selected luxury brands and other leading luxury companies, such as Tourneau, the world’s largest luxury watch retailer.”
Some of the things that I liked:
Dolce and Gabbana Suede Pumps $233
Tiffany & Co Feather Collar Necklace $1,097
Gucci Cognac Leather Shoulder Bag $345

The Best Online Destination for Make up, Skin Care and Cosmetics
Tuesday, December 15th, 2009Here is roundup of the best online websites for make up and skincare. Bookmark this page and come back again for future updates!
5*****StrawberryNet.com - This website has EVERYTHING (and I mean everything). They carry the top make-up, skin care and perfume brands found at posh department stores for a fraction of the price! On top of that, they offer free shipping worldwide. This is my newest favourite online source for designer beauty deals. LOVE LOVE this online retailer!
5*****Beautyticket.com – If you love the stuff that they carry at Sephora, you will LOVE this website. They carry the poshest brands at a fraction of the price. Stila, Yves Saint Laurent, Benefit, Smashbox, Bliss, Vincent Longo, Prescriptives, Iman + many more!
Saleevent.ca - Visit this website for major discounts for drugstore staples (Revlon, Maybelline, Jergens, Almay, etc.). Along with the fantastic online discount they also have warehouse sales that might be worth checking out.
Well.ca - The convenience of drugstore products at your fingertips. Free shipping in Canada.
The Skinny – Invite-only website offering discounts on luxury skin care.
5*****Paula’s Choice – A line by “The Cosmetics Cop”. I found out about this line from a friend who is in the cosmetics industry and I love it. This is line is all about combining the best ingredients with the latest technology without the marketing fluff (hence the affordable price range). If you don’t want to pay for some of the super expensive brands out there this is one skin care line that I recommend. To check out Paula’s reviews of beauty products visit beautypedia.com.
