Save Money on Beauty Products and Cosmetics: Beautypedia.com
A must read website for beauty products and cosmetics!
Before you drop $$$$ on cosmetics and skin care visit beautypedia.com to read the review. Most of us get caught up in the marketing hype and don’t always research the ingredients to see if we’re getting our money’s worth (I am guilty of this!). It is quite difficult when you’re in-store browsing and the sales associate gives you the script about the wonders and benefits of the product. I love talking to sales associates because they give you an overview about the product but it’s always wise to take the extra step and research the product on your own. I’ve worked as a cosmetician in the past and we were taught how to SELL the product but nothing beyond that.
On the website, Paula Begoun (author of The Cosmetics Cop and Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me) shares her findings on what works, what doesn’t work, the worst and best products and why you should keep your money. It’s quite surprising because A LOT of the high end prestige products out there have ingredients that are potentially irritating and might not be as effective as they claim to be. I love this site because it actually does save you money because it makes you think twice before paying for products that we know nothing about. Every time a brand new and improved product comes out, I visit beautypedia to check the review on the product. Nowadays I am really not in the mood to drop $100 for a cream when I can find a more effective cream at the drugstore for a fraction of the price!
